A partnership was formed in 2009 between BryanLGH College of Health Sciences, Southeast Community College, and BryanLGH Medical Center. The Center for Excellence in Clinical Simulation opened in January of 2010. It is located within the Medical Center, in a 4735 sq feet nursing care unit dedicated solely to simulation. Simulators include 4 adults, 2 pediatric (children about 7 years old) simulators, a birthing simulator, and a newborn simulator. There are 9 patient rooms and 2 debriefing rooms. This center serves nursing students from both colleges (BSN, ADN, and PN), respiratory therapy, EMT, and paramedic students from Southeast, and staff nurses and respiratory therapists from the Medical Center. Each college provides a full time simulation coordinator (MSN nursing faculty) to the Center. Prior to this partnership, each college conducted simulation independently on their own campus.
